The Original Mindfulness Note
June 22nd, 2020.
Happy Monday, everyone!
I will email you a mindfulness reminder note every Monday moving forward. I was planning on sending it once a month but realized that it would not have been enough.
Having a weekly reminder will help us all, including me, focus on remaining centered in the present. It should also help us maintain our emotions in a calm and control state throughout the week, which will positively impact our momentum.
We’ve already enjoyed a lot of positive momentum to date; now it’s time to fasten our seat belts, as we are shifting toward a whole new gear and a whole new level of performance.
Thanks
Joe

What do Ronaldo, Serena Williams, Tom Brady, Messi, Michael Jordan, Kobe, and Nadal, and all the other top athletes have in common?
They all practice mindfulness meditation, all of them, all the time.
Personally, It took me years to integrate this process into my daily life, which is why I am not expecting every one of you to incorporate this process instantly. However, if you want to understand, how we are able to constantly maintain our positive momentum, look no other than mindfulness meditation.
However, since we are working as a team, we will truly become unstoppable as a unit if we all attempt to fully embrace this practice.
There are various techniques, but the central concept revolves around focusing on living in the present, by not worrying about the past and avoiding projecting too much into the future. It involves having short, medium, and long-term goals but embracing whatever life brings our way daily without being affecting too much one way or another.
Not worrying about the lows, such as today, when we have a bug in the app, and all the wireless carriers crashed on the same day, while we are heading toward our single best organic installs day.
But most importantly, managing the highs, and not getting too excited by Paypal reaching out to us last week or by Mastercard reaching today to offer to allocate some marketing budget our way.
Each of these moments calls for embracing what is happening and not letting our emotions take over the situation by consciously leading our minds back to a state where our feelings are in a neutral zone, which is where positive momentum is generated.
Once more, each time, we fully embrace the moment, and then take a mindfulness approach by consciously bringing our emotions back to the center, toward a neutral zone, toward the present, and focusing again on working hard on the task at the end. We would have effectively worked to maintain our positive momentum. We would have instantly propelled this company toward an inevitable successful outcome.
Each time we fail to return to the center quickly enough and let our emotions take over our mindset, we would be opening ourselves up for trouble, which will lead to sloppiness, complacency, and overconfidence, which are all positive momentum killers.
Practicing mindfulness is a never-ending daily battle, but if we all work to embrace this process as a team, we will truly become unstoppable.
Thank you.
